GdS: Juventus have a very slim chance of being in 2023-24 Champions League

By Oliver Fisher -

Yesterday’s news regarding the revoking of Juventus’ 15-point penalty until a new trial is conducted has already caused a lot of fallout.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) sheds light on the re-evaluation of the penalty which has currently allowed Juve to recover the 15 points and thus jump up to third in the table

However, the CONI ruling – which arrived from the Collegio di Garanzia yesterday – did not make the sporting offence disappear. Instead it will now go to the Court of Appeal, as evidenced by the confirmation of the sentence inflicted on the Juventus management.

For this reason, the paper claims that the chances of Juventus playing in the next edition of the Champions League remain very slim because there is still a punishment forthcoming.

Moreover, the will is to arrive at a definitive ruling – in a sporting sense – by the end of the current league season in order to be able to provide an official and clear league table by the final whistle on the last day of the season.

    1. What? The implication is that Juventus might still get a point deduction before the end of the season, meaning some clubs below them will move up a spot, depending on how many points they get deducted. The only way we get “ucl spot for fifth position” is if we’re fifth and win the Champions League.

    1. Yes once again it is so
I have a question, why would any player want to come to Seria-A when this is the way they run the competition

The other leagues do not conduct their business like this!
If Juve do get away with this then the CONI should be stood down and investigated at the highest level !

  1. LOL

Serie a is a fkn joke. They think just hanging up a carrot for the rest of world to su_cK wont make them look as corrupt…. OH yes juves punishment still can be in effect by the end of the season so keep your hopes up till juve pays us some more to overturn the verdict. Basically Serie a wants some more money from juve is all and now UEFA stepped in to get some. Dont get fooled by this cr@p.
