GdS: ‘Kamada on a free: done’ – medical booked as Milan close in on deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are getting closer to announcing the signing of Daichi Kamada with La Gazzetta dello Sport describing the operation as ‘done’.

This morning’s edition of the paper (as seen below) has a segment on Milan which is titled: “The New Devils. Champions League budget, to be reinvested immediately. Kamada on a free: done.”

Kamada’s arrival will not affect the budget as he will arrive on a free transfer when his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt expires. It is a bargain coup for Milan, given that he has scored 40 goals in 178 games for the German side.

In the next few days he will arrive to undergo medical examinations, which will be followed by the signing of a five-year contract with the Rossoneri.

The management believe that the Japan international could instantly be put into the starting line-up while waiting to see how the futures of Brahim Diaz, Charles De Ketelaere and Yacine Adli work out.

Milan intend to try and sign Brahim on a permanent deal and would like to protect the investment they made on De Ketelaere, so the Spaniard could be moved out to the right to ‘divert traffic’. Otherwise, the trio would remain in line for a starting spot.

    1. I agree, he is not worth more then 15 mil and if we already have Kamada and CDK so we need to keep the money and invest in diffrent positions.
Hopefully we will get a good rw and striker, those was our main problem this year.
I know it not FM, but this year there is *A LOT* of good free agents, we have to take adventge and get Nadika, Tilmens and Asensio. I know that they will eran a lot of money, but they truely game changer, and I think that they + good striker will be a huge improvment and we will almost certainty win the league

      1. At this point we either get a good deal on Diaz and keep him as an option for RW (still need a good player there) otherwise let him go.
We should keep Adli who can play CAM and rotate with Kamada and Bennacer when he returns.
CDK if not sold should go on loan

          1. Adli has always shown a great attitude despite not playing.
He has also shown he has ability, so with some game time he could be good.
As I said above, he would be a good option to rotate with Kamada until Bennacer is back (so we don’t need to find anyone else)
Finally and most importantly it makes sense because CDK has been having a nightmare, so either a loan or sale are best at this point

          2. We cannot sell him for good money. Literally, we’ll lose him for nothing. Like 3-5 million or so.
It is better to keep him and try to relaunch his career again. Or dry loan to another team in the league. Monza would be perfect.

  1. Probably the best thing about this signing is that we’ve done it early.

I’d love to see all our business done before the start of pre-season.

    Let’s get these signings done!

  2. “Kamada’s arrival will not affect the budget”

What laughable journalism from GdS – A guy getting paid 4m per year plus agent costs and no doubt at least a few million in a sign-on clause (as a free transfer) is going to impact what can be spent.

It may prove to be good value, or he may end up being difficult to shift if he doesn’t perform in his first two years and still has three left on his contact, but it’s clearly going to have an impact!

  3. Well done, I prefer Orsolini than Brahim on the Rt wing n Bring S. Elsharawy on free transfer too as a smart quality back up for both Lt & Rt wing, we need to buy a good younge back up for Theo n a Starter Striker, keep Olivier n bring Belotti/Aurtonovic as 3rd striker

  4. Great move. If it were up to me I’d now get Mazzocchi Arnautovic and Baldanzi. Not sure about second young striker as Jackson, Openda, Thuram etc etc don’t really excite me.

  5. Next season i think colombo should be backup milan striker beside milan have to invest on the good striker too. Adli on the right wing, so he can switch together with saladmaker.

  6. At this point we either get a good deal on Diaz and keep him as an option for RW (still need a good player there) otherwise let him go.
We should keep Adli who can play CAM and rotate with Kamada and Bennacer when he returns.
CDK if not sold should go on loan

  7. Remember milan have much playmaker on the pitch ? Like pirlo, seedorf, kaka and maybe rui costa?? They have a will to sacrifice for the team and can play together with briliant ancelotti tactics. Pioli can use this method. I guess..

  8. Kamada is better than Diaz. He’s so versatile too — Frankfurt plays a 3-4-2-1 and he has played centrally in the line of 4 and he’s also played on both the RW and LW attacking positions in the “2” line of the 3-4-2-1.
He has 16 goals and 6 assists this season in all comps; he was awesome for Japan in World Cup. Love this signing as I expect him to be much more consistent than the always inconsistent Diaz.

We hopefully will get Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea to have a full time RW starter instead of going back and forth with the both inconsistent Messias and Saelemakers.
