AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is already tempted by the idea of playing Sandro Tonali alongside Ismael Bennacer, according to a report.
The Rossoneri boast three high quality options in the engine room as Bennacer and Kessie have been joined by Tonali, who arrived from Brescia earlier in the month.
Sunday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports how although Kessie is the one who offers the most guarantees and assurances in the holding midfield department, Pioli is already thinking about other solutions.
Only two can play in Pioli’s 4-2-3-1, and it is possible that the Rossoneri boss could move to playing with a Bennacer-Tonali pairing as they are the pair that best compliment each other on paper.
The choices, however, will be made game by game, also based on the characteristics of the opponents. Bennacer remains a fixed point, just like Kessie, but fixed pairings will not exist in the next Milan due to the quality available.
