GdS: Key duo still injured but Hernandez has recovered – will start vs. Sassuolo

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli will have to be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic until at least mid-January, while Simon Kjaer is not quite ready yet. On a positive note, though, Theo Hernandez has recovered from his issue.

The likes of Ismael Bennacer and Matteo Gabbia are also injured, meaning the game against Sassuolo will still be an emergency. However, the hope is that Hernandez will soften the blow, as reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews).

His absence was clear against Genoa, as Diogo Dalot understandably couldn’t live up to his standards. Fatigue stopped him from that game, after working hard late in many close games, but he will be ready against Sassuolo.

With Hernandez on the left-hand side, Milan have an edge. And this isn’t just a technical or tactical factor, as the newspaper points out, because the former Real Madrid man is also a leader of the team. In short, he will be very important.
