GdS: Kjaer’s hopes crushed as Milan renewal is increasingly unlikely

Simon Kjaer has previously stated that he would like to end his career at AC Milan, with it being the club he has made the most appearances for. However, the Dane will most likely not be able to fulfil that dream.

Kjaer’s contract will expire at the end of the season and while there was initially some hope for a renewal, this is no longer the case. As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan have no intention of renewing the contract as they, instead, want to renew the defensive department.

In the past, Kjaer has stated that he wants to end his career at Milan but these hopes have now been crushed. From the Rossoneri’s perspective, it makes sense as the centre-back will turn 35 later this month, while also struggling with some injuries this season.

The Dabe’s agent Mikkel Beck recently spoke to the media about the future of Kjaer and said the following…

“We haven’t spoken to the club yet about next season. We do that when the time is right for both parties. Simon basically wants to extend, but otherwise he is in a perfect situation as a free transfer in the summer after the Euros with Denmark.”
