This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) reports that Leao has a clear idea about his future: he wants to remain at Milan and renew his deal currently expiring in June 2024.

Not only that, but Leao has said not Chelsea and also to Real Madrid, who would love to take him to the Premier League and LaLiga respectively. The winger has publicly expressed his desire to stay at Milan and now he wants to turn those words into action.

For this reason, optimism and confidence regarding his renewal are growing day by day, but the main obstacle still to overcome is the fine owed to Sporting CP after Leao terminated his contract and joined Lille on a free in 2018.

However, there is a verbal agreement both on the duration of the contract (five years) and on the new salary he will earn shouldn’t be an issue with just a small difference between the €6.5m net per year offered plus bonuses and the €7m demanded.

The contacts between the parties continue in a positive way, despite the rumours about Chelsea and Real Madrid. Leao made his choice some time ago: he wants to stay at Milan.
