GdS: Leao’s power of attorney to change soon – what it means

By Ben Dixon -

With speculation suggesting there is interest in AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, a report has claimed that there could be some personnel changes in his entourage.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that Ted Dimvula’s time as Leao’s power of attorney will expire soon, but this should not bring too many changes due to the current set-up of his team.

As Leao’s lawyer, Dimvula was pivotal in the winger’s contract renewal. However, his role was only to agree on the deal, which had largely been sorted by Leao’s father and his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Given the speculation about Leao’s future with several clubs interested in the 24-year-old, the upcoming summer could see plenty of negotiations for him.

However, given his father and Mendes will continue in their roles, it isn’t likely that there will be many if any changes to the workings of his entourage, with the only differences being who signs off on the deal.

Leao ended his five-month league goal drought during Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Atalanta with a beautiful goal, and he continues to be the leader of the attacking department. In his autobiography, he described the renewal as a ‘love pact’ and downplayed the economic aspect.
