AC Milan could have yet another absence to deal with against Juventus tonight as Mike Maignan’s position is reportedly in doubt.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), the Frenchman has been called up for the game at the Allianz Stadium but it not yet certain of starting. This is because he sustained painful hand bruise in the first half of the defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday.
Even in that game Maignan seemed destined to come off at half-time, but he decided to grit his teeth and stay on the pitch for the full 90 minutes. However, the injury puts Maignan’s presence in the balance for this evening and in the meantime Ciprian Tatarusanu is ready and waiting in case he is called upon.
It will be a last minute decision from Stefano Pioli and the medical staff, but of course having the number one goalkeeper would be a huge boost amid a host of other injury issues.
Why do our players get injured so easily? We need new physios.
