GdS: Maldini and Massara make stance clear on their future at AC Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan duo Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have no intentions of leaving the club before the end of the season, a report claims.

As il Corriere dello Sport reports (via MilanLive), there will be no other shocks at Milan from here to June. After Zvonimir Boban’s sacking as CFO there was some speculation that Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara could follow in his footsteps by leaving before the end of the season, but that will not be the case.

The two directors will not end their relationship with the club in advance. However, it is just a matter of time since since the roads will almost certainly divide at the end of the season.

The separation now appears inevitable as there are too many differences between the duo and CEO Ivan Gazidis regarding plans for the future. Maldini had a strong temptation to leave in recent days, but for the good of the team he decided to continue until the end of the year.

The paper concludes by saying that Elliott Management never pushed the former Milan captain towards re-signing but rather are hoping for a meeting with him at the end of the season to discuss a possible route forward.
