GdS: Maldini to keep an eye on promising duo in Milan’s clash against Verona

By Isak Möller -

Milan are currently in a crucial phase of the season as they look to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League. They are currently in 2nd place but have struggled a bit recently, which must change.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini won’t just analyse the performance of the Rossoneri on Sunday afternoon. In fact, he will also monitor promising Verona duo, consisting of Matteo Lovato and Mattia Zaccagni.

Zaccagni scored in the reverse fixture and is also on the wish list of Napoli, who are currently in pole position to sign the attacking midfielder. His contract will expire in 2022 and a renewal with the Bentegodi side remains unlikely.

Lovato, on the other hand, has experienced a tough period recently after what was a very encouraging start to the season. At the age of 20, he has attracted the interest of several clubs and Roma have already offer €13m. Milan are following the situation carefully.
