Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is not giving up on the idea of signing Ismael Bennacer from AC Milan, according to a report.
The Rossoneri are on a charge towards European football and have beaten Roma, Lazio and Juventus since the resumption of Serie A in a spell which has seen them win six out of eight games.
Bennacer and his midfield partner Franck Kessie have been a huge part of that, as the African duo are the real metronome of the game designed by Stefano Pioli. However, the performance of the former Empoli man has not gone unnoticed.
After the interest shown by the PSG, Manchester City have also come back in for the 22-year-old, at least according to what La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) are reporting.
Pep Guardiola has ‘fallen in love with the player’, so much that he wants to bring him to England immediately. Paris Saint-Germain have shown an inclination to offer as much as €50million, a figure that Guardiola could also spend.
Bennacer’s contract stipulates that from 2021 a new termination clause will be active, set at €50m, but for now Milan are unwilling to sell.
