GdS: From Man Utd clause to buy-out fee – contract details as Diaz shines for Milan

By Isak Möller -

Brahim Diaz was the man of the match as AC Milan beat Monza by four goals to one last night. The Spaniard bagged a brace in the first half and his recent form has put his future back in the spotlight.

Following a decent first season with the club, Milan agreed to extend the loan from Real Madrid for two more years. As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Rossoneri will be able to redeem him for €22m next summer but there is also a €27m buy-back clause.

There are some additional conditions to take into consideration, mainly for Real Madrid. When the Bernabeu side signed Diaz from Manchester City for €17m, it was made clear that 15% of a future resale will go to Malaga. Furthermore, if he’s sold to Manchester United, City will get 40% of the sum.

Obviously, nothing suggests that the latter clause will be relevant as Diaz will most likely either stay at Milan or return to Real Madrid. To begin with, the playmaker needs to continue like this for the Rossoneri to exercise the buy-out.
