GdS: Manager, coach and psychologist – Pioli the key pillar of the current Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is one of the key pillars of the club, having transformed the side from a fight to get in the top six to last season’s second-place finish.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes this morning how – in addition to the likes of Kjaer, Kessie, Ibrahimovic and more – Pioli is one of the key points of the current Milan and the coach has really made a difference to the group of players he has inherited.

The paper writes how the former Lazio and Fiorentina boss has been able to drag the group out of mediocrity, restoring dignity and fighting at the top once again. The players who are part of Pioli’s Milan are much more valuable and expensive today than when they arrived.

The Rossoneri coach is recognised as a manager of the dressing room, with a kind of sensitivity that makes him a kind of psychologist. However, he was also able to bring out the best abilities of his players showing he is not just good on the mental side of things.

In addition to the core players mentioned above, Pioli has helped Calabria and Theo Hernandez to become firm points as well as Rebic and Saelemaekers, while Tonali, Leao and Diaz could be the next ones to explode.
