GdS: Mendes sounds out Real Madrid despite Milan star making wish clear

AC Milan continue to struggle when Rafael Leao is not available and in the meantime Jorge Mendes is sounding out interested clubs, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) highlights how Milan are seemingly a different entity with Leao versus without him, as the sharp drop in their points per game shows.

The delicate moment that the team are going through and the heat of the battle for a top four spot means it is probably not the time to try and close Leao’s renewal, with discussions instead expected to resume in April.

Despite this, Jorge Mendes – an agent still close to Leao despite the player signing his power of attorney over to family lawyer Ted Dimvula – has spoken to Real Madrid about the Portuguese forward ahead of the summer window.

However, it seems to be a very impervious idea because Los Blancos already have Vinicius Jr. for the left wing role and for the summer they have other important investments in mind such as Jude Bellingham.

Leao also sincerely intends to stay with the Rossoneri but there are still major obstacles, above all that of compensation owed to Sporting CP. For now, his focus must remain on the field.
