GdS: Milan want €20m Lecce star but face battle with Dortmund and Sporting CP

AC Milan are believed to be looking for one more piece to complete their midfield even after the signing of Yunus Musah, and Morten Hjulmand is a name circled in red.

La Gazzetta dello Sport write how Hjulmand has fallen in love with Italy, something which increases the chances of him staying in Serie A if he does decide to take the next step and leave Lecce.

He loves the country first of all thanks to a trip with his parents between Lazio and Tuscany in the summer of 2017. He came through the Copenhagen youth team, went to Austrian side Admira Wacker in January 2021 and then made it to Lecce.

Last season he amassed 35 appearances, but above all he inherited the captain’s armband from Lucioni and grew with his performances, becoming one of the Giallorossi’s leaders. He led them for key passes (26), big chances (3) and assists (4),

In two and a half years with Lecce he put together 95 appearances and over the months his value has risen to reach €20m. It is a figure that, in the event of a sale, would guarantee the club a nice capital gain.

On the pitch, he is a Viking: a player with personality and character who is always ready to take a step forward when it comes to battle.

All of this has caught the attention of some English teams, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting CP too, the club that has shown the most interest in the last few days.

Hjulmand was clear with Lecce, explaining his intentions to consider any substantial proposals to continue the climb. Milan likes him a lot, but their ability to launch a concrete offer depends on other situations, like Rade Krunic’s potential sale.
