GdS: Milan had €31m agreement with Sevilla over En-Nesyri – the background

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan reached an agreement with Sevilla over the signing of Youssef En-Nesyri but the player was the reason the deal didn’t materialise, a report claims.

After offering some background on why Patson Daka’s arrival from Leicester City never came to fruition despite an agreement between the clubs, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sportitalia) have spoken about another late negotiation.

En-Nesyri was one step away from joining Milan during the last day of the summer transfer window, the paper claims, after the Rossoneri reached an agreement with Sevilla over the terms of the deal.

They would have signed the centre-forward on the basis of a €6m paid loan and a €25m option to buy, an offer that the LaLiga club thought was fair.

However, it was the Moroccan international himself who interrupted the negotiations and refused the move to Milan, not wanting to leave on loan. Thus, the Rossoneri turned to Luka Jovic.

    1. He just wanted a more certainty, read: permanent transfer / obligation to buy. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Negotiating on the last day of the window didn’t help either l.

      1. How do you know that?
From my perspective if he’d gone on the loan and done well he’d been bought anyway..
That’s why the option to buy is there..
Guess he didn’t think he could hack it…
I’m glad we didn’t get him either way.
As people always say ‘not good enough’. Waste of a 35M
