GdS: ‘The Devil bites Inter’ – Milan plot shock €40m move for Chelsea’s Lukaku

A rather sensational idea has emerged among the AC Milan leadership in the last few hours, and the subject is striker Romelu Lukaku.

A section in this morning’s La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) – which features the phrase ‘The Devil bites Inter’ – writes that Milan are thinking of a move for Lukaku who will return to Chelsea in eight days when his loan expires.

It seems very unlikely the Belgian will stay in London. Inter are talking to the Blues and Piero Ausilio has already been to England to ask for the renewal of the loan deal, plus Lukaku has always told Inter that he wants to stay.

However, Milan are thinking of the 30-year-old in a rather stunning double signing to mock Inter by also landing Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo.

The idea for Lukaku is to sign him on a permanent deal too which Chelsea would prefer, given the Rossoneri would not have any problem meeting the €40m asking price after Sandro Tonali’s imminent sale, which Inter cannot pay at the moment.

Lukaku’s mindset will be decisive. Inter hope that, as has been said several times in the past, ‘Big Rom’ does not go to their city rivals but Milan have big ideas of forming an attack with Lukaku plus Olivier Giroud and Marcus Thuram.
