GdS: Milan add 80-goal Porto forward to list of attacking targets

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking at various options to come in and reinforce the centre-forward department and Mehdi Taremi is one of the targets, a report claims.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) unveiled a new option for the attack in Taremi, who currently starts for the Iranian national team and Porto, who the Rossoneri faced last year in the group stage of the Champions League.

The 30-year-old centre-forward appeals to Milan because he has a deal running out in June 2024, he has international experience, an imposing physical structure and a good scoring record.

If Taremi were to decide not to renew with Porto, it could well be that they are forced into selling him this summer but the current asking price is €20-25m, given his importance to the team.

Taremi has 80 goals and 49 assists in 147 games for Porto across all competitions, having netted 31 of them last season.

    1. He destroyed Milan…..

Just like Ali Daei destroyed Maldini in CL Milan vs Hertha Berlin.

      Iranian strikers are world class

      1. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes Sir. Milan and Maldini are destroyed by Iranian strikers. Best clubs in the world are playing only world class Iranian strikers

  1. At this point, the press are just listing any name you can think of. Let’s be honest, they don’t have a clue.

Randomly asking chatgpt to make an article about [club name] and [position].

  2. Cardinale isn’t letting things leak like this. Once our name is attached the price goes up. Cant stand Gerry but he is a shrewd business man. Cant imagine he would let info fly around before some concrete discussions took place.

  3. I don’t think he would do well against Italian defences .Giroud is a class act ,and he can score against any team in the world and yes at 36 years of age ,he does perhaps need a rest from time to time ,but even if we get another centre foward ,he will not replace Olivier Giroud next season ,help him yes ,but you cannot replace class ,what the team really needs to fit in with poili system is a strong fast tall physical midfield player …Giroud is still the perfect centre foward for AC Milan …no one and i mean no one in the world commands the 18 yard area as good as he does ,he knows exactly where to be at the right time ,and with his sheer physical strength, holds up the ball so well .
I come back to centre forwards ,just look at halland for Man City against inter he could not find space against inters defence ,and coming on to that again.
I thought that inter created more chances in the game ,than Man City ,and indeed were at least equal to them …Italian football is on the way up again .
Yes if Olivier Giroud has got good service ,and pace around him with such players as Rafeol leao ,then he will score goals next season ..We will challenge for honours again next season …The season was not as bad for us as some of you have indicated..we reached the semi final of the champions league, and we qualified for next season …so yes we need a centre foward ,but not one who will be able to replace Olivier Giroud just yet ..It’s AC MILAN FOR ME .

    1. For you, thankfully there are people with eyes who see Giroud for what he is. An average striker his whole career. The only reason I am not saying he is just bad is because he is old. So he is average. Just check Ibrahimovic at 36-37 and until he got injured at 41. You can see class vs bad or average. Stop making things up, you can love Giroud but he was never a top class player, his numbers and game time shows it. Nobody trusted him for over 2 season, even in his prime. The only reason he ever played for France is because Benzema was banned from the squad. Beto is already better than him.
