GdS: Milan will use all the money from UCL qualification to strengthen the squad

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have qualified for the 2023-24 edition of the Champions League with a game to spare, and that unlocks additional funding for the summer window.

Given that the Rossoneri have no debts as a club, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report that the additional €50m in incoming will be used entirely in the summer transfer window to reinforce Stefano Pioli’s squad.

To further increase the budget there will be some sales and the savings of some big salaries – such as those of Sergino Dest and Tiemoue Bakayoko for example – which will provide further room to operate.

Daichi Kamada will arrive for free from Eintracht Frankfurt and then the management want a central midfielder, with the number one name on the list being Ruben Loftus-Cheek, for whom Chelsea are asking for €25m. The alternative is Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo.

Two centre-forwards could arrive too with the priority being Lois Openda, who is valued at €30-35m by RC Lens. His potential arrival would not exclude a further signing such as Marko Arnautovic of Bologna, to ensure there are three strikers capable of providing contribution when factoring in Olivier Giroud’s stay.

  1. I hope people stop getting triggered over every rumor over the next few months, go and enjoy life instead of stressing out over freaking rumors

    1. i would wish people would take notice and follow your suggestion but by now i realize that wont happen.

  2. I wonder what will happen with Lazetic and Colombo. I think Colombo could be an intersting player for next season.

Let’s at least bring him in and give him a chance and if he isn’t good they should sell him.

    1. Nothing wrong in liking those games as at least fm is a great game series but ill agree it would be bad to entirely base ones football knowledge on that and castle in the sky fantasies.
On the other hand stade reims c30 year old oach Will Still started out playing championship manager and fm and has argued that the games had an impact on his choice of career. I believe everton has had some deal with fm developers to use the games as a tool for scoutingn as its basically a database of 500k players around the world.

      1. You know truth be told I play Fifa a bit but less so these days as it devolved into Ultimate Team which is pay for play and doesn’t really put skilled players on the same page as players who buy up meta players. FM is more realistic but less played. But I don’t or never equate that to real life.

You do make a point though. When I try career mode with a trash team and need to scout really heavily, I tend to see up and coming young players because I don’t have a budget. I’ve spotted Vanaken and Kounde for instance way back in Fifa 19 when they were far less known. Thiaw was another I bought before he came to Milan so that why I was surprised we got him. Was an absolute stroke of luck I was so happy, OR maybe just maybe like u said if u look at player stats long enough you can actually scout data-wise real life players. it’s also why I knew he had a release clause of around 7m lol 😂.

        1. To be fair even though ive bought some fifa games its been years since i played them but still bpught some, same goes for some fm games and think the last one i played was 2019 season where i chose to play with rijeka in croatia when i usually would choose milan to play with. I actually owns a copy of the original fifa game but ive always been more into manager games than live action footbal even though ive played both since the 80iesl, Still theres a lot of funny old football games like from amiga 500 days like goal and sensible soccer that i had a lot of fun with,

Your point in regard of realismn, fm has deffently shown some tendencies that later on has happened like you mention with thiaw. for example christian eriksen always ended up in tottenham before he had actually ended up there and that is roughly ten years ago but there has been hit and misses and there will be some as well in the future as well but fm is not a bad game and they are actually in contact with the locals and there have been made experiment srunning the game each seasdon to make predictions and its not like the game is overall that much wrong in that sense to my understanding at least back some years.

When i played the it, it took me 20 hours each season to just track down good deals before the season started and used a great deal of time specifying trhe training for each player, Il always enjoyed when the game had gone so far that there wasnt no known players but ony generated ones so the scouting made even more sense 😀

By the way im satans little helper on steam and yeah even though i haven t played much manager games lin recent years im a pretty avid gamer 😀
