GdS: Milan and Schalke move towards €20m defender deal with Liverpool set to be disappointed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to go all-in to try and secure the signing of Ozan Kabak from Schalke 04 before the window closes, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Schalke started with a request of €25m while Milan made an offer that was worth €15m. However, the Bundesliga club are not in a great position from a financial point of view and now seem willing to offer a discount.

The paper claims that in the last few hours Schalke have shown a willingness to sell Kabak for €20m meaning the gap between offer and demand is now €5m and could be bridged with some bonuses.

There isn’t much time left, but the dialogue is going well. The game is very open with the concrete possibility that everything will be postponed until Monday. Milan want to close the operation and give Pioli a reinforcement for the defence, even if Nico Schira believes that Liverpool have offered €24m.
