GdS: Milan could sign Barca defender for €10m and promote Primavera star

In the last few days, AC Milan have been linked with many young centre-backs on the market. The defence needs reinforcing but the Rossoneri could slightly change their approach, opting for Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet instead.

Lenglet, as many of us know, is not exactly considered a young centre-back at the age of 28. However, Milan are still evaluating the Frenchman as he could be signed for just €10m, according to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (see photo below).

The defender spent last season on loan at Tottenham and he no longer appears to be in the plans of Barcelona, hence the price tag. By signing Lenglet, Milan could hold off on bringing in a young centre-back and could instead promote Jan Carlo-Simic.

The 18-year-old, as highlighted by the newspaper, did really well during the pre-season tour in the United States and Stefano Pioli was impressed. He could thus be promoted to the first team and learn from the more experienced centre-backs.

It remains to be seen what the Rossoneri will do, but evaluations are in full swing.
