AC Milan are set to undergo changes in the midfield department before the summer transfer window ends and that includes a couple of sales, according to a report.
Looking at the potential signings, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports how Milan are insisting on signing a defensive midfielder and are adamant that they will only sign Youssouf Fofana on the right terms, which means alternatives are being looked into.
A couple of exits could help fund at least one move, and Ismael Bennacer is wanted in Saudi Arabia. Milan’s stance is clear: if a Saudi Pro League club come along and make a big offer or trigger his €50m release clause, they will not stand in his way.
Saudi clubs are also looking at Yacine Adli, who made 24 appearances last season under Stefano Pioli but has barely featured in preseason. He is wanted above all by Al Shabab and the Rossoneri believe they can get €15-20m from his sale.
If the requests are satisfied then Milan could therefore have €65-70m come in from two sales, and they could then sign Fofana and another player such as Manu Kone or Lazar Samardzic later in the window. It could also provide funds for other deals like Tammy Abraham.
Another midfield revamp?
We are currently at +10M, the only changes our squad needs is Adli + Pobega upgrades, loaning out Traore, Nasti, Pellegrino and of course ST.
Fofana, J.David and another CM/CDM deals can easily complete the squad.

I do care about having a midfield and we had a midfield before last season, then we sold 2/3 of our Scudetto midfielders, signed another 3 midfielders, and now it seems we still need a midfielder (but we’re getting a box to box one), and we may even end up selling our last remaining Scudetto winning midfielder.
But we have 10m or whatever….

Bennacer isn’t going anywhere. Adli and Pobega are subs anyways so it doesn’t matter that much.
And we’re not getting 65M€ for them, no freaking way.
GdS writes this up and then some people ( a surprising amount) believe Milan could actually get a sum that high for these two players.
Nobody is paying 50M for benacer, if they wanted to they would’ve already. As for Adli, if anyone is interested in him is because they believe they can get him cheap. Clubs aren’t exactly lining up for signature..
Milan request and wishful thinking might be 65-70m, but if they get a 40m total for both they should throw a party.
Milan doesn’t need to sell before they buy. So, people should stop publishing reports like Milan is really broke. We deserve some respect. Maldini, and some other players have been sold.
We don’t need to sell to buy (a generally pointless exercise).
We need to sell because we have a massive squad.
Yet our wages are quite a bit lower than other teams, so no that’s not it.
And where they supposed to get the money to pay 6 midfielder for 2 spots? Your momma’s purse.
Not p*ssinf money away on a GK, a CB, a RB, a AM, a second CF and the salaries of the army of directors responsible for all of the p*ssing?
I wish clubs did act like they had finite budgets it might encourage them to prioritise.

Having another revamp is just a proof they’re clueless and have no plan whatsoever. If they had any, we wouldn’t need another revamp. Or we would already secure needed reinforcements.
And by the way, where’s that “healthy” budget or as some naives here like to argue, our 80 million mercato war chess?
Who says it’s a revamp? Adli was 4th or 5th choice for midfield and Benny only played 25 games last season. Both these guys are on the outside looking in right now.
Exactly – it’s more like fine-tuning. Anyone would think we’re selling Reindeer RLC and Musah.
And replace them with actual quality and players fit for the formation? That would be great.
And they are the only players who played better in defense.
Benny is injured most part of season 25games is still a lot after coming back long injury. He is only real player who can play in double pivot, have you closed your eyes?
Bennacer has had an in Bennacer missed 256 days in the last two years. That’s almost an entire year on the sidelines. He is no longer the pillar of this midfield, regrettable as that may be.

Benaccer must say .. sell Adli and pobega. Buy or loan a back up striker.. CDM &AMF is a must buy..

65-70 mil for those two is hard to take this article seriously. I still don’t see a proper dm in our squad, unless Fonseca has worked something out with our current squad. Time will tell.
