The season of contract renewal has begun at Milan, who have done really well on the pitch thus far. However, in order to continue this way, they will need to lock down their important players.
The first that come to mind are Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanogou, without forgetting Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who all will expire next summer. After them, it will be captain Alessio Romagnoli’s time (his contract expires in 2022).
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanLive.it), there is certainly enough time to discuss the terms with agent Mino Raiola, but the negotiations won’t be simple. After the first contacts, it’s clear that it will be an uphill battle for the Rossoneri.
Romagnoli currently earns €3.5m per year and Raiola wants Milan to give his client a significant pay rise to renew the contract. We can expect that amount to be less than Donnarumma (around €7m), but not too far away.
