GdS: Milan close to agreeing renewal with Bennacer – the figures

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are moving closer to agreeing a contract renewal with midfielder Ismael Bennacer and an agreement could arrive soon, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) write that Milan will return to Italy tomorrow after their Dubai training camp and there is the possibility of that being followed by a big announcement such as the renewal of Bennacer.

An agreement between the parties is in fact getting closer, and the extension would be great news for the Rossoneri who want to lock down one of their most important players for the long term.

The Algeria international has ended up in the sights of several teams, especially in the Premier League, and Bennacer’s recent change of agent to Enzo Raiola had caused some concern among the fans, but there is optimism that a deal will be struck.

Among the happiest would be Sandro Tonali, who last week declared: “I hope with all the good in the world that he stays. He knows Milan better than me because he arrived earlier: he knows what it means to play for Milan and do it at San Siro. He knows the path that has been taken and what we could still do in the future, together.”

The Algerian midfielder is expected extend his current contract – which is expiring in 2024 – and will get an important pay rise as part of it, going from €1.5m net per season to €4m per season plus bonuses.
