GdS: Milan confident of signing €20m man to be Romagnoli’s new partner

AC Milan have turned their attentions towards the defence after signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic with talks reportedly ongoing over a deal for Jean-Clair Todibo.

Todibo – who turns 20 today – continues to be the centre-back most strongly linked with a move to the Rossoneri, with negotiations having been ongoing for sometime through Paolo Maldini.

According to Monday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (as cited by MilanNews.it), there is in fact an agreement between Milan and Barcelona over a deal: a loan until the end of the season with obligation to buy set at €20m.

Given the former Toulouse man’s €150million release clause this seems like a snip, but at the moment there is still no agreement between Todibo and Milan, though there is still great confidence and optimism that it can be found.

The Diavolo have told Todibo he would be a starter alongside Alessio Romagnoli, giving him the chance to play with greater continuity.

Given his pace and right-footed nature, he is in theory the ideal partner for the Milan captain, despite his inexperience.
