GdS: Milan confident of signing Man Utd defender as negotiations slowly move forward

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are confident that they can secure the return of Diogo Dalot from Manchester United, according to a report.

Dalot spent last season on loan at Milan from the Red Devils but it was a season-long dry loan with no option or obligation to buy as part of the deal. Given that he put in some good performances both as a left-back and a right-back, Pioli wants him back for the new campaign.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) confirms this news by stating that Milan would like to get Dalot on loan from Manchester United, but this time also inserting an option to buy. However, the English club would like it to be a dry loan, therefore without the purchase option.

Nonetheless, there is still optimism on this front from the Rossoneri management as per the newspaper, even if everything is proceeding very slowly. There are believed to be alternative targets.
