GdS: Milan consider defender’s signing a priority but want discount on €28m fee agreed with Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

The first step that AC Milan want to take in building a squad ahead of a return to the Champions League is to buy Fikayo Tomori, a report claims.

Tomori joined in January on a loan until the end of the season with a €28m option to buy inserted as part of the deal, and given his fantastic performances which helped the Rossoneri achieve a second-placed finish and a return to the Champions League, many presume that his permanent purchase will be a mere formality.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the permanent signing of Tomori from Chelsea is a priority for directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara. A €28m option to buy was agreed back in January, but the duo would like to obtain a partial discount on that figure as per the paper. It remains to be seen if the London club will accept the terms being changed.
