GdS: Milan could ‘give up’ Adli with few problems – the reasoning

By Ben Dixon -

Whilst Yacine Adli re-emerged in a sense last season, he did not fully become a starting player for AC Milan, and now, a departure could be on the cards, with the Rossoneri looking to invest in the area, a report has suggested.

When speaking of departures, especially recently for Milan, it has been a case of sacrifices. Which star will be sacrificed? Will anyone be sacrificed? Now, the question is which midfielder, or even midfielders, might be sacrificed?

A report from earlier today suggested that Ismael Bennacer’s departure is gaining traction, given there was a four-hour summit about his position, and whilst it was left to be imagined what the outcome was, it was speculated that the summit was more than an enquiry.

Even if Ismael Bennacer departs, the Rossoneri could also willingly depart with Adli. As Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) suggests, the French midfielder may not be in Paulo Fonseca’s plans, and whilst he will be assessed by the Portuguese manager, the club could ‘give him up without too many problems’.

Of course, every offer must be listened to, but the tail end of the season showed that Adli can play a role in this team, even if Fonseca is looking to move to a more physical base, his technicality could be pivotal in certain matches.

  1. We’d still need creativity in the midfield and the other midfielders have zero contribution to that. And the rumored midfielders aren’t known for their skills & creativity either. Is the plan to play long ball over the midfield, eh? Or watch every midfielder turn into backpass-krunic?

  2. Fake news, Fonseca a year ago wanted Adli on his team. He consider him a Zidane, well is little exaggerated, but, he has a opinion about him.

  3. It would be another foolish decision by this management team to let Adli leave at this stage in his career for a few million dollars. You continue to develop a talent like that and don’t give up on the kid after one season learning an entirely NEW position. Stupid. But this is Redbird so I wouldn’t be surprised.
