GdS: Milan could go back in for €15m Fiorentina centre-back if Romagnoli were to leave

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could go back in for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic after he refused an extension, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that Fiorentina have made a renewal offer to Milenkovic and in the coming days, their management hopes to clarify the contractual situation of the 23-year-old.

The paper adds that the Serbia international will go on the market if he does not accept the proposal from Rocco Commisso and his collaborators. The defender’s contract with Fiorentina is due to expire in June 2022, and Milan have repeatedly shown interest in the player.

Should Alessio Romagnoli leave, then it is hypothesised that Rossoneri will return to trying for Milenkovic, especially given that it would take just €15m to sign him given that he is a year from the deadline of his deal and Fiorentina could be somewhat backed into a corner by his stance of not accepting a renewal.

  1. Swap Romagnoli for Pjanic and sign Milenkovic for only €15M? YES PLEASE!

Move to a 4-3-1-2 formation option with Kessie/Bennacer/Tonali/Pjanic/Pobega to rotate and then you have a CB pairing with Milenkovic/Gabbia/Kalulu to rotate with Kjaer and Tomori (eventually with Milenkovic taking over for Kjaer)? How could you not love that moving forward?

    1. Kjaer is aging. Apart from Tomori, Gabbia needs time. Rest of them are average. Caldara should be sold. Kalulu isn’t a natural CB.

In the future, We could settle for
      Tomori and Nikola as starters.
      Gabbia as third choice.
      It’d be awesome
