GdS: Milan could secure €40m starlet as Benfica make stance clear on formula

Ahead of the upcoming season, AC Milan are working hard to reinforce the squad and add even more quality to Stefano Pioli’s side. It seems there will be at least one signing per department and in the midfield, a defensive player is needed.

Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie have done extremely well in the midfield tandem, peaking towards the end of the season with truly fantastic performances. However, they can’t keep playing each game from the first minute.

Therefore, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are searching for a backup on the market, which can allow the duo some rest and also increase the competition. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), Florentino Luis is still on their radar.

Despite the €120m release clause in his contract, Benfica would be satisfied with a figure of €35-40m. Furthermore, they could evaluate a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy, which could suit Milan quite well.
