AC Milan have a concrete interest in signing Mikkel Damsgaard and they could include a counterpart to lower the cost, according to a report.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan have set their sights on Damsgaard, who is showing his abilities at the European Championships with Denmark. He is attracting admiring glances from Milan because of his ability to play three different roles in Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1, namely on either wing or as a number 10.
Sampdoria spent just €6m to sign the 20-year-old forward from Nordsjaelland and their president Massimo Ferrero has mentioned a price tag of ’30 to 50 million’ in the media. Milan are interested in the player, but will not participate in any auctions and the management will try to insert a counterpart to lower the costs of the deal.
The right man could be Andrea Conti, especially if Roberto D’Aversa were to become the new head coach, given that he is the man who wanted him at Parma last season.
