AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez could be set to hit the 3,000-minute milestone for the season when the Rossoneri take on Hellas Verona on the final day of the Serie A campaign.
As pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the French defender is getting very close to having played 3,000 minutes this season when you also include stoppage time.
He is the only player in the Milan squad who is able to reach that figure during the Verona match, a game in which he is expected to start once again. He has played in 44 games for Milan across all competitions this season.
One of the reasons he has played so many is that Milan made it further into the Champions League than was initially expected.
he has also managed to avoid any major injuries has the basic level of fitness needed to play so many games. It does show, though, that Milan should sign a player who can rotate with him.
Thats unfair for the player .. give him his deserved rest .. this game means nothing !
Just for comparison
17/18, 54 games, 4603 total minutes
18/19, 42 games, 3625 total minutes
19/20, 38 games, 3094 total minutes
20/21, 50 games, 4171 total minutes
21/22, 39 games, 2900 total minutes
Average of around 45 games per season and around 3680 minutes per season.
The player in question is Franck Kessie.
But for a whole year a group of people have been trying to convince themselves and others, that Milan didn’t need Kessie, he wasn’t that important and we didn’t miss him.
That’s a crazy hole in the line up that was left uncovered the whole season and the biggest reason for the team struggles this year.
Getting a replacement for Kessie in the middle of the park should be first order of business this summer
Thank you!
Kessie ran for one and a half people.
