GdS: Milan eye deal for defender as Schalke slash €25m asking price – the alternative

By Isak Möller -

It’s no secret that Milan will be looking to bring in a centre-back in January, having struggled with many injuries in that position. By the looks of it, they have narrowed it down to two targets.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanLive), Ozan Kabak is at the tip of the Rossoneri’s wish list. Schalke are in the relegation zone and won’t be able to ask for the €25m they wanted in the summer, which is good for Milan.

The negotiations are already underway, and have been for some time, so it remains to be seen if the Turkish international will arrive next month. The alternative is Mohamed Simakan, who plays for Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

The 20-year-old could have ended up at Milan already in October but Strasbourg rejected the offers presented by Milan. His price tag is set at €20m, which probably is a tad higher than that of Kabak.
