GdS: Milan shopping for full-backs in Spain – the young duo targeted

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s scouts appear to be present in Spain, with the management having identified two potential reinforcements for the future as per a report.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) Milan have ‘pointed their telescope towards Spain’ and they are looking above all for a young full-back. Two pieces of news emerged yesterday.

Milan are chasing Javi Lopez, a 21-year-old Deportivo Alaves left-back who has 18 appearances (12 starts) in Laliga so far this season, but he would arrive in the summer and not now.

The negotiations for Aboubacar ‘Buba’ Sangaré – a 16-year-old full-back for Levante – are more advanced. He played his first minutes in the Spanish second tier recently, and would cost €1.5-2m.

Above all, Sangare is very fast and the idea is to sign him, leave him in Spain until June and then bring him into the Primavera fold in view of the 2024-25 season, or the U23s if a team is registered in Serie C.

Sangaré is a Spanish international in both the U15 and U17 age groups, the latter of which he is now a starter for.

He became the youngest debutant in Levante’s history when he played in the Copa del Rey against Amorebieta in December.
