GdS: Milan have concrete interest in €15m-rated Hellas Verona star – initial contacts made

By Oliver Fisher -

After weeks of having being linked with a number of different defensive targets, a new name has emerged in Matteo Lovato of Hellas Verona.

Lovato has appeared in every Serie A game so far this season for the Gialloblu and was particularly impressive during Sunday night’s 1-1 draw against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

He is clearly impressive some top clubs too, as Tuesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com) reports that the 20-year-old centre-back has ended up in crosshairs of the Rossoneri management.

Not only that, but the paper claims that there has been first contracts between Milan and the management of Hellas Verona to scope out a potential deal, with Paolo Maldini and co. still determined to bolster the defensive depth available to head coach Stefano Pioli given only two centre-backs are fit at present.

The value placed on the former Padova starlet is around €15million, which seems to be an affordable figure for Milan at present.
