Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future is yet to be decided. Yesterday, the 38-year-old took part in an internal friendly for Swedish side Hammarby, a club he owns 25% of. Getting on the scoresheet, he gave some hints about his future afterwards.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), AC Milan have seriously started to consider the possibility of renewing Ibrahimovic’s contract. In recent months, the Swede has given a lot to the team, still performing on a high level.

Of course, they will have to find a solution for the salary but that’s another matter. The only certainty, for the time being, is that Ibrahimovic wouldn’t mind staying for one more season, but the arguments will have to be convincing.

Ibrahimovic’s word yesterday could be a signal. Or rather a clue, a message to the Rossoneri: he’s ready to speak and negotiate. Once he’s back in Italy, a face-to-face with CEO Ivan Gazidis will take place and this will be decisive.

Milan remain hopeful that an agreement can be reached, especially since the contacts between Paolo Maldini and the striker are constant.
