GdS: Milan interested in Croatian defender – Rebic’s presence could be key in negotiations

AC Milan are interested in Spezia defender Martin Erlic, a report claims, and his friendship with Ante Rebic could help their chances.

Erlic has racked up 2 goals and an assist in 23 total appearances between Serie A and the Coppa Italia this season and he recently scored the decisive goal in Spezia’s recent 3-2 win against Crotone.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), the Croatian defender – who is 1.93m tall and is excellent when it comes to aerial duels – is beginning to attract the interest of several top Serie A clubs such as Napoli, Fiorentina and Milan in particular.

Erlic is a compatriot of Rebic and after Spezia beat Milan earlier in the season the pair spoke at the end of the game, therefore the winger could be decisive in the event that the Rossoneri decides to start negotiations for the purchase of the player.

The Diavolo already carried out a survey for Erlic last summer and during the season the player has been followed. There is interest, it will be necessary to see if an offer will be put on the table in the next summer transfer market, especially given the uncertain futures of Alessio Romagnoli and Mattia Caldara.
