GdS: AC Milan interested in Napoli striker as Gattuso may ask for swap deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, a report claims, with a swap deal potentially on the cards.

Milan have been linked with a move for Milik over the past couple of weeks as he seems destined to leave Napoli, as talks regarding a renewal of the Poland international’s deal – which expires in 2021 – have stalled.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday (via MilanLive), Milan could try ‘to seize an important opportunity in view of next season’ by moving for the Poland international.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to end his second spell with the Rossoneri after just six months, the management are on the hunt for a profile capable of picking up where the Swede left off.

Milik could be the perfect opportunity as he has shown a willingness to change clubs this summer and look for new stimuli. He and his partner Jessica are happy in Naples, but at the same time there is the need for a new challenge after four years in the Azzurri shirt.

After the departure of Krzysztof Piatek and with Rafael Leão’s best position still unknown, Milik could become a more and more concrete option for the Rossoneri.

Considering Gennaro Gattuso is on the bench at Napoli, a swap deal with the former Milan boss isn’t out of the question as he may ask for an old protégé in return, though a price tag of €40m for the 26-year-old has been mentioned.
