GdS: Milan join Napoli and Atalanta in pursuit of €12m-rated Crotone forward Messias

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of four clubs interested in signing Crotone forward Junior Messias after their relegation, according to a report.

It was a miserable season for Crotone overall as they were relegated back to Serie B without much of a fight in the end but Messias was one of the few bright spots within it as the 30-year-old emerged as a consistent performer for the Calabrian side. He amassed 9 goals and 4 assists in 37 Serie A appearances playing mostly as an attacking midfielder.

According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are interested in signing the Brazilian as doubts persist over the future of Hakan Calhanoglu who might yet leave on a free transfer. The asking price is far from prohibitive either as €12m could get the deal done, however there are other teams interested such as Torino, Atalanta (if Ilicic left) and Napoli.
