Certainties on the left, but many doubts on the opposite side. AC Milan have found a pillar in Theo Hernandez, as showcased throughout the season, but things have not gone as well on the right flank.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti have failed to convince. Often the two have wasted their chances, making the position a weak link of the Rossoneri.

Calabria and Conti have taken turns throughout the season, as the former played from start when Marco Giampaolo was in charge, while the latter has found more space since the arrival of Stefano Pioli.

When the season was brought to a halt, Conti was the starting man, but the situation hasn’t been fully defined. Calabria has played 1043 minutes, while the former Atalanta man has registered 1248 minutes.

Both have made 16 appearances, although Conti has started three more games. In short, Milan haven’t found a master for the right-hand side yet. Not surprisingly, the average ratings of the players are also quite disappointing: 5.56 for Conti, 5.26 for Calabria.

Then again, both of them have the qualities to do even better, as we have seen in the past. Therefore, the Rossoneri shouldn’t give up hope just yet, as the final stage of the season could be decisive in this aspect.
