AC Milan have diverted their full attention to the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic but a conclusion does not seem imminent, a report claims.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the signing of the Swede has not yet arrived despite the fact it seemed like it was going to come late last week.
The management are waiting and hope that Ibrahimovic’s signature will arrive as soon as possible, because the certainty of his presence next season is needed before the market can be formulated.
The paper adds that Milan have had their offer to Zlatan on the table for some time, but for now his response has not yet arrived. Paolo Maldini and co. are waiting, but obviously they cannot wait forever because the new season will start in just over a month, and the summer mercato will soon heat up.
Milan therefore are awaiting Ibra’s response and that will likely start a domino effect. If he does not sign the renewal, the Rossoneri will be forced to take a top forward to replace him, while if he were to extending his contract for another year then priority would shift to other departments at that point.
