AC Milan had three names in mind as potential alternatives for Davide Calabria before settling on Alessandro Florenzi, according to a report.
Carlo Laudisa of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) spoke on the YouTube channel of Carlo Pellegatti and confirmed that the management considering three targets as an alternative to Calabria: Alessandro Florenzi, Alvaro Odriozola and Diogo Dalot.
The game of chess lasted a month and started when Manchester United denied letting Dalot out on loan again, and for Odriozola there was an agreement for a loan deal between the Rossoneri and Real Madrid.
The Spanish defender until just yesterday he made the last attempt to get a call from Milan, and it was that attempt which allowed Milan to keep pushing Roma to land Florenzi on their terms.
Odriozola was ‘very close’ to Milan as per the journalist, but they seem to have used the leverage to seal a better deal for the Italian.
