GdS: Milan ‘hoping for a miracle’ to end ‘total war’ with two outcasts – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have still not found a solution for both Divock Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure, with Turkey representing the ‘last chance’ to end a ‘total war’ as per a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that now the possibility of moving to the rich Saudi Pro League has evaporated and that other European leagues of a certain level (Portugal and the Netherlands, for example) closed their doors yesterday for non-free agents, Origi and Ballo-Touré are in limbo.

In fact, the pair are ever closer to staying at Milan for the entire season (or at least until January). Zlatan Ibrahimovic made it clear in a press conference that they would be training with the Futuro side, a move that did not have the desired effect in pushing them towards an exit.

There was even a day when Origi showed up at Milanello and was the only one to do so. Having understood the plans of the club (training with the Under 23s) he immediately left with the green light from the club.

Milan signed the Belgian to a four-year contract worth €4.5m net per season. He made 36 appearances and scored two goals in his first season with the Rossoneri, then went to Nottingham Forest on loan before returning.

The Turkish market remains an option, which has become more attractive thanks to the presence of coaches (Jose Mourinho) and players (Victor Osimhen) of a certain calibre. So far, however, there has been no concentrated interest in Divock, only timid enquiries.

For Ballo-Touré the market was livelier because he received offers. A deal seemed all done with Saint-Etienne, but he said no, making Milan very angry. He hoped to go to England, where he was also coming off a disappointing experience with Fulham, but instead nothing emerged.

In Turkey the market closes on September 13 and there is still time. The Milan management are ‘hoping for a miracle to free themselves of their salaries’, but if this does not happen, after the break for the national teams the two will stay at least until January. The ‘total war’ continues.

  1. Should just Ballo as backup lb. He isn’t as bad as people say he is. Better than saladmaker or terracciano at lb anyway. Contract until 2025 then we’re free of him.
Origi can play for futuro 🤡 until 2026.

    1. Thats a logical idea.

We don’t have a back up LB the manager is willing to play, so why not use him to rest Theo from time to time.

      Origi, clearly nobody wants him

    2. Cant use him because he wasnt in the first team registered, both in Europe and Serie A. For players above 22 y.o We can only register 17 foreigners in both competition, and he wadnt registered.

      1. The serie a registration list can be changed at any time I believe. So if there was a long term injury I believe it is possible to include them with someone else moving of the serie a list.
        UCL can’t change until January.

  2. This management needs to be reviewed, a lot of childish mistakes are been made, firstly Ballo Toure was specifically Moncada’s idea, Maldini and Massara wanted Pezzella, so the club decided to go for Toure, I feel in the first season of Origi , Pioli had a hand in burning him and undermining his confidence, by refusing to playing him even though Giroud was tired and out of ideas, the club made a mistake of banning both of them, they should have given them a proper pre season with the rest of the squad, used them to play some matches, this would have given them exposure and it would have been easier to place them.
Both of them also honestly lack ambition, rumours coming out is that both of them refused to move because of a difference in money with what they are earning at Milan, so for them its better to stay put, get paid and ruin their careers.
Honestly this management needs to be reviewed properly, the lack of an experienced manager both as DS and general manager is hurting the club.

    1. Rubbish. There’s no truth to that nonsense. Maldini made these useless signings especially with giving Origi a 4.5m contract and signing him while he was injured.

This is why I believe Milan should hire an experienced Sporting Director, CEO and GM. NO MORE PAST PLAYERS in management.

Both Maldini and Ibra are INEXPERIENCED AND THEY BOTH MADE BAD DECISIONS.

      1. how do you know its rubbish. what is your evidence that it was maldini who picked the player.

another thing, how are you comparing maldini with ibra. maldini won us a scudetto, ibra got us emerson and fronseca.

maldini was successful. ibra is a waste of time

      2. another thing i want to mention. so what is maldini made bad decisions. bad decisions are unavoidable with a role like that but you need to be making more good decisions then bad and maldini did that to a T. leao, theo, bennacer, tonali.. all the players that got us out of the banter era was maldini. when on earth did you start watching milan? or did redbird send you?

      3. If you were sensible enough, or intelligent enough to know the modus operandi of Maldini and Moncada, it’s easy for you to understand the choices both make on the market, Maldini wanted Pezzella and Belloti, in fact Maldini had already spoken with Belloti about coming to Milan as a free agent, but the club wanted a more international player which was Origi.
Maldini had practically agreed a deal with Parma for Pezzella, then Moncada and Gazidis cancelled it, and took Ballo Toure instead, try and get accurate news.
The basic truth is we need to stop buying rejects from overseas, thank God the Futuro side is now up and running….

  3. Now is up to Acmilan but to me I presumed Loftus cheek and tomori should first be excluded from first eleven because they don’t have the capacity to maintain high and now Acmilan should use Gabbia and Pavlovic and this case Gabbia should be Acmilan leader because he have everything now benercer, musah and pulisic should be evaluated as the attacking midfield while rejnder, Fofana and Loftus cheek evaluated as the double pivot while Okafor and chukwueze should play from right wing then leao should play left Tammy Abraham and Morata should be evaluated in the forward honestly Fonseca should get it done before champions league
