GdS: Milan need an alternative as physique continues to let Brahim Diaz down

By Isak Möller -

Brahim Diaz, the new No.10 of Milan, has made two appearances this pre-season and overall, they were positive. However, there is one aspect that the Spaniard must improve and soon as well.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Brahim Diaz suffers in physical games as his strength continues to let him down. He’s very skilled indeed, but having him as the only playmaker wouldn’t be wise.

The 21-year-old is very fast and you can’t fault his excellent technique, but Milan will need something more from their No.10. For this reason, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking for one more playmaker on the market.

With that said, there is time for Diaz to improve and convince the management fully, but it’s clear that he will have to work very hard. And in games that are better suited to him, he will surely shine for the Rossoneri.

  1. Wrong. Physique is not his problem. Its his poor decision making and his eyes on the ball in stead of on the field. Lets keep him 2 or 3 years and give him playing time when Zyich or Vlasic need to rest. Lets see how it progresses. He has something, not a starter for now. In my opinion guys like De Ketelaere or Hauge are further in their development.

    1. Hauge, Really? He is deservedly at best a bench player right now whereas Diaz is a borderline starter. I would argue that Diaz is definitely ahead of Hauge in development though both still need time and work to get better.
