GdS: Milan ‘not convinced’ by Bordeaux man and should abandon pursuit

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have not had any more contacts with the agents of Jean Onana, who just a few days ago appeared to be a very concrete target for the Rossoneri. The search for a midfielder continues, in other words.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking to bring in a midfielder to replace Franck Kessie. Furthermore, they would be able to let go of Tiemoue Bakayoko, who currently is in the squad for numerical reasons and not his quality.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport’s Luca Bianchin, in spite of concrete talks with the agents, Milan are ‘not convinced by Onana. In fact, there have been no more contacts in the last few days and the Rossoneri are expected to abandon the pursuit.

Onana would cost €6m plus €1m in bonuses, as well as a future resale percentage. The fact that he would take up a Non-EU slot hasn’t helped his case and Milan are no longer actively pursuing this lead. Aster Vranckx of Wolfsburg remains an option for Milan.
