GdS: Milan strike personal terms agreement with Reijnders before talks with AZ

AC Milan have agreed on personal terms in principle with AZ Alkmaar midfielder Tijjani Reijnders and must now find a deal with his club, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), should the midfielder sign for the Rossoneri, he could be paid €1.7 million per season on a five-year deal.

Reijnders has been pushing for a move to Serie A and it seems that his personal terms will not get in the way of the deal.

Milan must now strike a deal with the Eredivisie side which could be found for around €18-20 million. He would become the second signing of the window in the midfield as Ruben Loftus-Cheek is soon to be announced to the fans.

The Chelsea midfielder will form part of the two (or more) pronged replacements for Sandro Tonali who is set to join Newcastle in the Premier League in the coming days.

  1. So RLC/Musah will act as defensive b2b while Reindeer/Krunic (Bennacer when he comes back) as registas.

Or will Bennacer be put up front in the hole, with RLC/Musah and Reindeer/Krunic holding the central midfield.

Anyway, that’s not a step up in quality at all. That’s just quantity. Except for Bennacer.

    1. It’s options. And it’s gambles. Effectively, we don’t have Bennacer until 2024 anyway, so I guess the thinking is that we sacrifice Tonali in order to get three midfielders in for the same money to fill the holes. So if the CM slots are Reijnders, Musah, RLC, Krunic and Pobega then Pioli at least has options to try to find a winning team. Then when Bennacer rejoins, he can slot in to whichever role most needs improvement.

Won’t be easy though, no doubt. It’s a big gamble, but if the other option was starting the season with basically just Tonali, Krunic and Pobega then I can see the thinking behind it.

      1. I still we need a stand out midfielder like Ambarat or SMS or Frattasi or 2 out of three in order to upgrade our midfield compared to last year.

But we also need a mobile striker and a right winger.

So I am fascinated by who it will all pan out

        1. Bringing either one of those players doesn’t mean they will integrate in well. Our midfield is essentially brand new and there will be lots of growing pains here.

      1. I think we will get two more and right now it looks like Reijnders and Musah are front runneers. While Reijnders looks promising, I’d rather see Amrabat instead of Musah.

  2. Milan have been signing POTENTIALS in the last 4 years. E.g Leao, Maughan, Theo, Beanacer etc.

If they do well it look like a masterstroke and if the players fail to deliver then the team suffers.

Pls do not expect quality signings in the business model of Milan.

We remain die hard Rossoneri fans irrespective of the business model or success on the field.

Offcourse like all fans I prefer my team to win and sign all the big names but, I can’t throw 30yrs plus for love for Milan because of current business model

    1. 💯👌

I have followed Milan since the late 80’s and feel entwined with the club my support and passion for Milan does not waiver with who owns the club or who is on the pitch.

But everyone ridiculed Sacchi when he was appointed and we all know what happened…

Yes we had a bad transfer window last year, but we still got Malik Thaiw and for me he is the best centre back we have, he just lacks experience but otherwise in relation to defense attributes and skills none of our centre backs are close to his level. I can see him being in the German defence for the next 10 years comfortably

    2. Also me.
I have been with this club since the day it lost champions league in 1993.
Maldini and Tonali exit was so painful to me.
I made a decision not to watch Serie A henceforth. But your post have encouraged me.I thank people like you that have been there before us.I will be with this club no matter who may be there.Milan for life.
      God bless

    1. I think we are waiting for him to get the Germain passport and some admin work for the agent, hence the complication. If it all works in our favor he will not take an EU slot otherwise we will need to choose between him or Guler for the last slot since RLC is the first none EU signing (blame brexit..)
