AC Milan battled hard against Napoli last night in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, earning a 1-0 win to take back to Naples next week.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has their ratings from the game, starting with the team’s overall performance and the coaching of Stefano Pioli, both of which earned a 6.5 out of 10.
The man of the match for the Rossoneri was Brahim Diaz who earned a 7 thanks to his impressive dribbles and his hand in the first goal, while Olivier Giroud (5.5) struggled the most.
Mike Maignan got a 7 after some crucial stops in goal, while Davide Calabria and Simon Kjaer each received a 6.5. Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez got a 6 to complete the defence.
Rate Krunic wasn’t quite up to pace and got a 5.5, but Sandro Tonali (6.5) and Ismael Bennacer (7) both helped keep the midfield balance.
Rafael Leao got a 6 and almost scored an incredible solo goal, with Alexis Saelemaekers (6) the only substitute to earn a rating.
