GdS: Milan player ratings from Spezia win – Saelemaekers the best; duo poor

By Isak Möller -

Several players impressed in Milan’s win against Spezia yesterday, but there were also a few that didn’t do as well. Overall, though, the Rossoneri showed their quality as a team once again.

Today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews) took stock of the player performances and handed out ratings accordingly. Alexis Saelemaekers, who got the assist for the winner, was the best with a 7/10 rating.

Pierre Kalulu, Daniel Maldini, Rafael Leao and Brahim Diaz were also excellent as they got the same rating. Mike Maignan and Sandro Tonali also did well, per the paper, but was slightly behind with a rating of 6.5.

Meanwhile, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez passed the test and got a 6. Pietro Pellegri has to be seen more (5.5) to make a full assessment, while Franck Kessie also didn’t do enough (5.5).

Finally, Ante Rebic and Olivier Giroud were at the bottom with a rating of 5. Especially the Frenchman was poor, as the newspaper put it, failing to make any sort of impact on the game.

  1. How Tonali got so high?
I love the kid but he was awful yesterday with losing a lot of balls.
Pellegrini should got 6 as his pressure helped us to stop Spezia’s defenders from going forward.
    The rest look fair
