GdS: Milan could use Pobega as a counterpart to land midfield target

AC Milan have not disregarded the idea of signing Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo and a counterpart could be useful in the negotiations, a report claims.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Milan would ‘have to proceed at speed on a winding road’ if they are to win the race for Frattesi because Inter are in pole position and have been for some time.

However, the operation they are trying to complete to bring the funds to sign Frattesi with – namely the sale of Marcelo Brozovic to Saudi Arabia – has not been completed yet despite the fact it was meant to be a done deal.

Milan are not giving up and will try a possible acceleration during the next week. If a meeting with Sassuolo takes place, the Rossoneri could try to insert Tommaso Pobega in the deal, as a partial counterpart.

Frattesi’s valuation is in fact considered too high by Milan, who are aiming for a discount. The bottom line is that the management want at least two more midfield signings after Loftus-Cheek.
