GdS: Milan ‘probable’ XI vs Manchester City – late changes expected

Although AC Milan’s fixture against Manchester City is not until later tonight, we can begin to see how Paulo Fonseca will line up his squad and a report has claimed that some changes have been made from earlier predictions.

With the squad being boosted by some returns, we can expect to see some changes from Milan’s previous friendly against Rapid Wien, and an earlier report showed that there were some decisions still to be made by the Portuguese head coach.

Three positions were seemingly undecided, but in the hours that have passed since, there have also been some other changes to the predicted lineup.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, the defence could see two changes from the draw in Austria. Marco Sportiello will be given the nod, Davide Calabria will keep his place at right-back, and Matteo Gabbia will retain his position in central defence.

However, Fikayo Tomori will be welcomed into the defensive line, as will Alex Jimenez – who joined the club permanently at the start of the mercato.

Yacine Adli will hold his place in defensive midfield, but he may be partnered with Ismael Bennacer, rather than Tommaso Pobega, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will take his place in front of the duo.

On the wings, 17-year-old Mattia Liberali is expected to start on the left – originally, Daniel Maldini was expected to start, but following news of his potential departure this may have changed the manager’s plans – and Samuel Chukwueze will start on the right.

Lorenzo Colombo was expected to lead the line, but with his situation similar to Maldini’s, Luka Jovic is expected to return to the starting lineup.
